Central Texas Nonprofit Compensation Survey 2006 (Austin, Texas) released November 22, 2006.

Sponsored by the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations (TANO) and the Center for Community-Based & Nonprofit Organizations at Austin Community College, the survey encompasses 44 staff positions currently held by 1662 nonprofit staff from 67 nonprofit corporations in the Greater Austin area.  This is the largest survey done of the Greater Austin area to date.

Information available includes, but is not limited to:

  • # of incumbents,
  • average salary,
  • Base 25th Percentile (25% of matched incumbents are at or below this annualized salary),
  • Base 50th Percentile,
  • Base 75th Percentile,
  • Average Annualized Salary for prior year Average years experience of reported matched incumbents,
  • Average # of employees reporting to marched position,
  • Percentage of the matched population who are FLSA Exempt status,
  • Percentage of marched population who are BS/ BA or higher education,
  • Percent who are licensed &/ or certified, percent who have a second language proficiency;
  • Profile of Benefits provided by the matched entities.

Additional analyses may be done on the data and will become available to all who receive copies of the original report.

Neal E. Smith, CCP, SPHR,served as the survey's HR 3rd Party Administrator. He has 33 years of human resources management experience, including with Mobil Oil Corporation, City of Austin, Dell Computer Corporation, Applied Materials and SETON Healthcare Network.  He is currently the full-time Director of Compensation for the Seton Family of Hospitals and a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), WorldatWork, Lifetime Achievement Award, Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM.  Neal is the President and Board member, Central Texas Compensation and Benefits Associations (CTCBA), 1995 and 2005.  Previously he was a  Board member and 2-year Salary Survey Chair, Austin Human Resources Management Association (AHRMA), 1993-1994.  He has served on the Boards of Austin Families, Inc. and SETON's Board Compensation Committee.  His company, AustinHR.com provides support consulting business and a website providing salary survey and HR advisory services.
