About Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations

The Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations (TANO) was founded in 1997 as a statewide association that reflects and promotes Texas’ growing independent sector in all its diversity. Our mission is to serve, support, and strengthen our state's nonprofit sector by representing and advocating for the Social Sector of Texas.

As all other statewide associations who are members of the National Council of Nonprofit Associations (NCNA), TANO provides, and works in partnership with others to assure that the social sector we serve has access to quality and essential services. These include, but are not limited to, services that fall under the following areas:

• Leadership and Convening (Networking)

• Advocacy and Public Policy

• Management and Professional Development

• Research and Information/ Referral

• Products and Services (Business Operations)

• Nonprofit Employment Opportunities

• Communications and Online Forums
